THE GBQ PODCAST

Episode 2: David Scott

DAVID SCOTT is following in the footsteps of golf’s legends and will soon have something in common with the immortal trio of Harry Vardon, James Braid and Sir Henry Cotton.

Each has been Captain of The PGA.

Scott takes on the role next year – the culmination of a 40-year love affair with the Association – and he looks ahead to this “great honour” in the latest episode of The GBQ Podcast.

Hosted by Sky Sports Golf presenter Sarah Stirk, each month The GBQ Podcast brings you in-depth interviews and provides genuine analysis around the most important topics facing the golf industry.

Our aim is to ensure you hear from the people that matter as we talk with the game’s most influential figures.

Scott has certainly made his mark. He is a Master PGA Professional - one of just 64 ever to be accorded the honour - and the General Manager of Dumbarnie Links - a venue that has been showered with awards and is one of the UK’s most exciting courses.

His long career has also taken him from Blairgowrie to Kingsbarns, with The Dukes and the Old Course Hotel along the way.

And he plays a key role with a charity helping veterans deal with the physical and mental scars of war - a cause that is particularly close to his heart.

Sit back and tune in as we chat with one of the golf industry’s most respected and liked characters.
