THE GBQ PODCAST

Episode 4: Sami Strutt

The host of The GBQ Podcast, Sarah Stirk, meets Bernhard Academy’s recently appointed education director, Sami Strutt

There are few people more qualified to talk about the golf turf industry than Sami Strutt.

After 30 years at BIGGA, most recently as chief operating officer, she left the greenkeepers’ association in April to become the new education director at Bernhard Academy.

She is developing education programmes that are looking to speak to the wider golf industry, and she talks about these in the latest episode of The GBQ Podcast.

Hosted by Sky Sports Golf presenter Sarah Stirk, each month The GBQ Podcast brings you in-depth interviews and provides genuine analysis around the most important topics facing the golf industry.

Our aim is to ensure you hear from the people that matter as we talk with the game’s most influential figures.

Strutt has seen some huge changes in her three decades in the golf industry. The way greenkeepers are perceived in golf clubs has transformed and the joys but also the strains the job can have on mental health are now fully recognised.

Having developed the Master Greenkeeper programme at BIGGA, while also spearheading the governing body’s successful Continue to Learn education programme, she is now in charge of the training that is designed to help greenkeepers, equipment managers and turf professionals take their performance to the next level.
