THE GBQ PODCAST

Episode 1: Neil Howie

NEIL HOWIE guided a key strand of one of golf’s biggest businesses for nearly a quarter of a century, building Odyssey into Europe’s No. 1 brand before being appointed MD of Callaway Golf Europe in 2002.

Now, he is looking back at his incredible career on the first episode of The GBQ Podcast. Hosted by Sky Sports Golf presenter Sarah Stirk, each month The GBQ Podcast will bring you in-depth interviews and provide genuine analysis around the most important topics facing the golf industry.

Our aim is to ensure you hear from the people that matter as we talk with the game’s influential figures.

They do not get more influential than Howie. He has seen tremendous advances in retailing, marketing and the development of hardware during a fascinating career.

He has recently stepped down as Managing Director and President of Callaway EMEA and is now working in transition with the new incumbent, Ben Sharpe, until he retires at the end of this year.

So it could not be a better time to look back at Howie’s career with this equipment giant, discuss the changes he has seen and analyse where the golf equipment and retail industry is heading.
